iOS 6.x Untethered Jailbreak


Important Note:

  • Make a complete backup of your device using iTunes or iCloud before jailbreaking your device.
  • If you have a passcode set on your device, make sure you disable it before following the instructions below. 
  • Compatible with iPhones and iPads

Using Evasi0n for untethered jailbreak iOS 6.x

Step 1: Download Evasi0n 1.5.3 here (mac version) or here (windows version).  Uncompressed file and extract to your computer desktop.
Step 2: Connect the device to be jailbroken with your computer.
Step 3: Launch the evasi0n.exe and click on “Jailbreak” button to start the iOS 6.x untethered jailbreak process. 
Step 4: When prompted as shown on 3rd step below, go to your iDevice and tap on the Jailbreak icon newly loaded to your device.
Step 5: Be patient and wait for the process to complete.  When the payload process is complete and you’re confronted with your device’s lock screen, the ever familiar Cydia icon will be present on the home screen. The device is now successfully jailbroken untethered and you can now install any extensions or packages via Cydia, provided that your device is supported by them.



Those who wish to upgrade, please download a copy of the latest ipsw (or if you saved the blob of previous version) and restore to the latest version before jailbreaking.  List of firmware is available here.

Untethered Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1




Important Note:

  • Make a complete backup of your device using iTunes or iCloud before jailbreaking your device.
  • If your iPhone relies on an unlock, do not update to stock iOS 5.1.1 firmware and for the time being stay away from Absinthe.
  • If you have a passcode set on your device, make sure you disable it before following the instructions below.

Using Absinthe for untethered jailbreak iOS 5.1.1

Step 1: Download Absinthe 2.0.4.  Uncompress file and extract to your computer desktop.

Step 2: Connect the device to be jailbroken with your computer.

Step 3: Launch the Absinthe.exe and click on “Jailbreak” button to start the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak process.
Step 4: When the payload process is complete and you’re confronted with your device’s lock screen, the ever familiar Cydia icon will be present on the home screen. The device is now successfully jailbroken untethered and you can now install any extensions or packages via Cydia, provided that your device is supported by them.
Note: If the device is connected properly as per step 2 then the Jailbreak button should be available. Press the button to begin the jailbreak process.

Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 for A5 iDevices

The Absinthe is a newest A5 iDevice (iPad 2 & iPhone 4s) untethered jailbreak that was released today by hackers behind Chronic Dev team.
* This is not a tool to unlock your iDevice.
Preparation
  1. Windows version Absinthe v0.3 (latest version)
How to jailbreak:
  1. Connect you A5 iDevice to PC and run Absinthe.
  2. Click on Jailbreak button on Absinthe window and you will see "Beginning jailbreak, this may take a while..."  Please be patient
  3. Once completed, go to your iDevices and look for Absinthe app.
  4. Click on Absinthe and it will take you to Greenp0ison website then your iDevice will reboot.
  5. After your iDevice reboot, you will find Cydia on your unthethered jailbroken iDevice!

Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 today!



The jailbreak released is supported on all A4 based (and below) devices like iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 3G/4G and iPad 1. Newer A5-based devices (e.g. iPad 2 / iPhone 4s) are currently not supported.


Preparation:
  1. iTunes 10.5 and above
  2. iOS 5.0.1 IPSW
  3. Redsn0w 0.9.10b1 RedSn0w 0.9.10b5 (Windows)
  4. Optional: Corona 1.0-3 deb file

Existing users on iOS 5.0.1 Tethered Jailbreak:
iDevice must be running tethered iOS 5.0.1 9A404 or 9!406.  Otherwise, it may not work
If you are currently on A4 iDevice with tethered jailbreak using Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze, look for package named ‘Corona 5.0.1’ to make your iDevice untethered jailbreak.


For users on stock iOS 5.0.1 or custom iOS 5.0.1:
iDevice running on stock iOS 5.0.1 or custom iOS 5.0.1, download Redsn0w 0.9.10.b1 for Windows for untethered jailbreak.

Step 1: Download the latest version of Redsn0w from the links given above
Step 2: Start Redsn0w, select "Jailbreak" then check "Install Cydia". Follow the onscreen steps to place your device into DFU mode
Step 3: Wait for Redsn0w to complete the process
Once done, your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch will be rebooted into fully untethered jailbreak mode!

Jailbreak iOS 5.0 today!

Apple released the eagerly-awaited iOS 5 for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad today & you can already jailbreak it.


Note:
1.        This is tethered jailbreak
·         To reboot iDevice, you need to connect to computer and execute “Just boot” option in Redsn0w
2.       Jailbroken iDevices cnnot use Over-the-air updates; you will need to use the standard method (USB connect iTunes) to update your apps
3.       Locked iPhones (rely on ultrasn0w) may not work
4.       iPad 2 is not supported at this point

Preparation:
1.       iTunes 10.5
2.       iOS 5.0 IPSW
·         iPhone 3GS
·         iPhone 4
·         iPhone 4 CDMA
·         iPad
·         iPad 2 WiFi (jailbreak not supported yet)
·         iPad 2 3G GSM (jailbreak not supported yet)
·         iPad 2 3G CDMA (jailbreak not supported yet)
·         iPod touch 3G
·         iPod touch 4G
3.       Redsn0w 0.9.9b4
4.       Optional
·         Sn0wbreeze v2.8b8

How to jailbreak:
1.       Connect iDevice to computer.
2.       Restore to iOS 5.0 via iTunes 10.5.
·         If you want to preserve baseband, please create custom IPSW with Sn0wBreeze v2.8b8 and restore to custom build file.
3.       Run the latest version of Redsn0w 0.9.9b4. 
4.       Select Jailbreak.  Redsn0w will guide you to place your iDevice to DFU mode. 
5.       After Redsn0w completed, your iDevice is not jailbroken
6.       To boot up your iDevice
·         Run Redsn0w again
·   Select Extras > Just boot.  Redsn0w will guide you to place your iDevice to DFU mode again.
·         If you used custom firmware created with Sn0wbreeze, iBooty folder will be created on your Desktop as well. 
·   Run iBooty for iOS 5.0.  Select your iDevice then press Start.  iBooty will guide you to place your iDevice to DFU mode again.

Untethered Jailbreak iPad 2 via JailbreakMe 3.0

Finally JailbreakMe 3.0 is released by Comex after 4-5 months for iPad 2.

Follow below steps to jailbreak iPad 2 via JailbreakMe 3.0
  1. From Safari web browser on your Device, visit www.jailbreakme.com.
  2. You will see JailbreakMe 3.0 on web, tap on Free button and install as instructed.
  3. Safari browser wil close automatically and launch Cydia icon on your Home screen
  4. Click on Jailbreak button, now its in progress.  Once completed you will get a pop up button notifiying you that Cydia is on your iPad 2.
